Zach Newell, Director of Asset Strategy, leads the modeling and analysis of asset impacts due to high-impact, low-frequency events; inventory development; and equipment acquisition.
He researches expansion opportunities, new market technologies and is heavily involved in customer support and marketing.
His background includes transmission, commercial building infrastructure design, pharmaceutical and automotive experience. Zach has led a variety of projects in these industries and has expertise that includes critical infrastructure, risk analysis and supply chain forecasting. During his time with AEP, he was a subject matter expert for Transmission Line Standards, including support for BOLD® Transmission, LLC.
Zach holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from The Ohio State University; and is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Ohio.
